Our doctors and nurses have been delivering babies since 1959. When you decide to deliver your child at SRMC, you’ll find we have everything you need. From viewing your baby’s ultrasound to holding them in your arms and watching them grow; you may experience the comfort and convenience of delivering your baby close to home with the very best medical care both of you deserve.
Sumner Regional Medical Center recently earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification in Perinatal Care (ACPC) by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. SRMC Women's Services becomes the first in the state to receive this certification. SRMC has also previously been named to Newsweek’s 2021 list of Best Maternity Care Hospitals. This distinction recognizes facilities that have provided exceptional care to mothers, newborns and their families, as verified by the 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Survey.
We provide care for high-risk babies through our partnership with Vanderbilt. This allows us to care for babies with gestational ages of 35 weeks and greater. We have available specialized RNs, physicians, respiratory therapists, social workers, and radiology staff. We can stabilize babies requiring advanced care prior to their arrival at Vanderbilt. We can also perform newborn ECHO tests, saving babies from a transfer to Vanderbilt.
We have an excellent medical staff of obstetricians, pediatricians and family practitioners, as well as experienced and well-trained nurses who welcome more than 700 babies into the world each year.
Our staff is always on call and is happy to answer your questions 24 hours a day.
