What is LSVT LOUD?

LSVT LOUD is a speech treatment method for individuals with Parkinson disease. Individuals who undergo this intense four week program (four one hour treatment sessions for four weeks), have shown improvements in vocal loudness, intonation, and voice quality with improvements lasting up to two years. LSVT LOUD has also shown to be effective in improving the common problems of disordered articulation, diminished facial expressions and impaired swallowing function associated with Parkinson disease.

What is LSVT BIG?

LSVT BIG applies the same principle of LSVT LOUD to limb movement in people with Parkinson disease. LSVT LOUD training has improved amplitude of limb and body movement with documented improvements in increased speed, balance and quality of life. LSVT BIG is delivered by either an Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist. This intense program is completed in a four week period consisting of four one hour sessions per week for four weeks.
