Hospital Recognized as one of the Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the U.S.
Gallatin, Tennessee’s own Sumner Regional Medical Center was recently named a “Most Beautiful Hospital” in Soliant Health’s third annual contest to recognize the nation’s Top 20 most beautiful hospitals.
Sumner Regional Medical Center was one of 250 hospitals across the country nominated to participate in the contest, and was one of 50 hospitals selected by Soliant Health, a leading specialty healthcare staffing provider, to be voted upon in the contest that took place on the company’s Web site, Soliant.com, during the month of June. With more than 70,000 votes cast, SRMC placed at number 17 on the list of 20 hospitals to be recognized as a “most beautiful hospital.”
The description of Sumner Regional Medical Center prepared by Soliant to announce the Top 20 most beautiful hospital reads:
“You might need an extra minute or two to nod-off in the OR while staring around at this lavishly-appointed Tennessee medical center. From comfy leather loungers with home-entertainment-style TV units to designer marble floor accents, this gorgeously-appointed facility makes spectacular use of natural and artificial lighting.”
Having opened a new patient tower in 2008, Sumner Regional Medical Center features beautiful arched windows throughout the facility, floor to ceiling windows at the end of each hallway on patient floors, 70 private patient Wellness Rooms®, accented marble floors, nursing stations featuring contemporary lighting and beautiful wood craftsmanship, family waiting areas with large windows that allow visitors a view of the city, and a grand lobby with a waterfall that gives the sense of entering a five-star hotel.
“We are proud to provide quality care in a setting that is recognized among the most beautiful hospitals in the country. It is an indication that the community places value on the healthcare of the residents” said Mary Jo Lewis, CEO of SRMC and HighPoint Health System. “SRMC is a beautiful hospital because of the people who love coming to work here - the doctors and nurses and staff who truly care about the patients and families we serve. We are all proud for our hospital to receive this generous recognition.”
